The GROUP Council is made up of a maximum of 14 Councillors:

  • Five from Kinnersley (Four vacancies)
  • Two from Sarnesfield
  • Five from Norton Canon (Three Vacancies)
  • Two from Letton

You need to live within 3 miles from the Parish you wish to represent. 

  • Organisational Structure:
  • The role of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer are combined into one paid employee position.
  • The Councillors are elected or co-opted members and are the decision makers of the organisation.  Individuals may hold further roles within committees and working groups and can be found listed below.  The Chair is responsible for chairing the meetings with the Vice-Chair available to step in should the Chair be absent.
  • The Parish Council may appoint volunteers to assist with tasks within the Parishes – such as Parish Footpath Officer and Tree Warden.
  • The Parish Council may appoint contractors to undertake some tasks – such as the Parish Lengthsman.
  • All land and assets owned by the Parish Council can be found on the Asset Register on the Policies page.

 

Parish council elections take place every 4 years. The last election was in May 2023 and was uncontested. The next parish council election will be in May 2027.
